STAMP Test

Your instructor may have requested you to take STAMP Test.  This is an online language proficiency exam which must to be taken here at the lab during the following time slots*.  No reservation needed.  We offer the exam “first come, first served” basis.

Note that you will need to provide an acceptable form of photo identification in order to take the test. Identification must be current and include a recognizable photo. Acceptable identification includes:Driver’s license, State-issued ID, Rice University identification card, Valid passport.

*If your instructor has already scheduled your class time to take the exam, you don’t need to take it during these hours.  If you do not finish your exam during the scheduled class time, you must return to the lab to complete the exam during open lab time.

Technical Issues

Writing

For Arabic, Chinese, & Japanese writing section, please use the computers input system.

For French, German, & Spanish, accented characters are provided within the test.  Click on the appropriate character to insert into your composition.

Listening and/or Speaking

Taking the STAMP Test

You must read the Test Taker Guide before taking this test.  Please do this in advance.

Once at the lab, listen to your proctor’s instruction for the log in URL.
