Job Description

Student Language Lab Assistant
Starting Pay: $8.00 per hour
Description: The CLIC Language Lab Assistants help faculty, students, and guests to use language learning software/hardware in the Language Lab. The assistants are responsible for maintaining lab materials and caring for the front desk and Language Lab environments.

Responsibilities

1. Create a positive atmosphere for all users of and visitors to the CLIC Language Lab
   
2. Provide support to faculty, students, and guests in the Language Lab
3. Keep the lab classrooms and front desk in good order
4. Maintain textbooks and audio visual equipment for use by students and faculty. Sign out materials to students and faculty
5. Work on projects related to the Language Lab
6. Help with the lab Facebook page and website

Qualifications

1. Strong communication skills
2. Strong customer service outlook
3. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
4. Ability to use computers and common software applications
5. Comfortable learning new technologies

Desired Qualifications

1. Knowledge of a foreign language is strongly preferred
2. Experience using CLIC software preferred
3. Studying or have studied a language at Rice
