Job Description
Student Language Lab Assistant
Starting Pay: $8.00 per hour
Description: The CLIC Language Lab Assistants help faculty, students, and guests to use language learning software/hardware in the Language Lab. The assistants are responsible for maintaining lab materials and caring for the front desk and Language Lab environments.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive atmosphere for all users of and visitors to the CLIC Language Lab
- Provide support to faculty, students, and guests in the Language Lab
- Keep the lab classrooms and front desk in good order
- Maintain textbooks and audio visual equipment for use by students and faculty. Sign out materials to students and faculty
- Work on projects related to the Language Lab
- Help with the lab Facebook page and website
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Strong customer service outlook
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to use computers and common software applications
- Comfortable learning new technologies
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of a foreign language is strongly preferred
- Experience using CLIC software preferred
- Studying or have studied a language at Rice
